WHAT CLIENTS ARE SAYING…

Illustration
“When we decided to commission Penny to do the illustration for The Shops at The Ritz-Carlton In-Room Catalog cover, we were completely drawn in by her light, breezy style and cheerful use of color. Not only did Penny listen to what we wanted, but she also gave her own very valuable input to make this a truly collaborative effort. Working with Penny was a dream and we would highly recommend her to anyone looking for an illustrator with exceptional talent. Our client was thrilled with the results and we’ve already won several industry awards for the work. All in all, we could not be happier with the experience!”

“We worked with Penny to illustrate our theme of “Cultivating Inclusion” for the annual Disability Awareness Month campaign for the Governor’s Council for People with Disabilities. She was a great partner on the project, bringing creative ideas to the table, and her work really brought the campaign to life. The final materials packet was vibrant and engaging, and the client loved the artwork so much that they decided to invest extra money in printing for their materials order form so that they could showcase the artwork. The investment paid off with a 40% increase in orders from the previous year. Event numbers are still coming in, but they are on track for a significant increase in participation as well, which sets the bar high for next year’s campaign!”

“It was a delight to work with Penelope on a series of illustrations for the January-February, 2011  issue of Health Progress, the journal of the Catholic Health Association. The topic of that issue was palliative care and the illustrations centered on a single patient, a young woman in various health care settings. Penelope captured the soothing spirit and tone we wanted with soft lines and colors carried through articles on various aspects of the theme. Her illustrations accompanied articles ranging from an overview of the state of palliative medicine today to an essay on death and dying to an article on addressing spiritual pain. She was a delight to work with, and we have received many compliments on the results.”

Yoga
“I spend most of my day at work, stuck at a computer on the lower level of a building. I don’t get to see the sun or relax and the day seems to just sweep me away in a frenzy of doing this or that. Except for 2 very special hours every week. On Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s I take my lunch and I go right next door where a great yoga instructor teaches. Her name is Penny and she is what keeps me sane during my hectic workdays. She has the ability to instantly put you at ease with her words of peace and insight. Once I start practicing with Penny I forget what it was that I left behind. For that very short time Penny seems to transform her students into graceful beings who all have come together for a like cause, to become one with their bodies and put all their aches and pains aside. I truly enjoy practicing yoga with Penny and appreciate her hard work and dedication to this art. I know it’s hard sometimes to leave her own family and work duties behind to bring the presence required to do yoga. But she does and she does it effortlessly and graciously. She has a talent and I was fortunate enough to be a part of it. I want to thank Penny for this experience and I hope wherever she goes she will be able to spread her wonderful gift with others.”
