I got this journal at Goodwill for 39 cents. It's a small 5x7 inches and soft absorbent pages. Perfect for paint. I leave it open when I am working on an illustration so I can quickly paint or write something when it strikes (or when I mixed too much of one color). I find it to be a good way to keep myself loose and just create for creation sake. The experimentation is good excercise too.
