1. Wine tasting.
We visted three wineries: Lanthier, Oliver and Huber.
2. Waterfalls. In Clifty Falls down on 56 East there is a
state park that
boasts beautiful trails and waterfalls. And they were.
3. Colin pretended to ride a stone cow.
4. In Milltown they have antiquated gas pumps. So attractive
but
very loud.
5. We hiked up trail 7 in the Clifty Falls State Park. They
had a rock
shaped like a piece of Cake, appropriately name Cake Rock,
which
I tried to eat. Didn't taste very good.
6. In Madison, Indiana there's a restaurant called Key West
Shrimp
House. I laughed at the name, but sho' did enjoy their shrimp.
Didn't
touch the frog legs though. Grody.
7. About 5 miles south of Milltown there's the Shoe Tree.
It is simply
amazing. So many pairs of shoes have been thrown onto it,
it looks
like grayed barnacles attached to the sea wall. It was actually
kind of
frightening. And I'm no wimp.
8. Goodwill. I couldn't pass up the Goodwill in New Albany.
I went in
and bought a lime green sweater. Met some really nice people
too.
9. I browsed several antique stores in Madison. My favorite
thing was
this old chair. In good condition, but I couldn't fit it in
my car. Bummer.
10. We went caving in Marengo. We found out the different
between
stalagmites and stalactites and even made the aquaintance
of a few
sleepy bats.
11.Three peacocks watched us from a distance at the Huber
winery.
12.One night was spent at the Leavenworth Inn, a charming
little bed
and breakfast. The owner was so nice and baked us fresh chocolate
chip
cookies. I wanted to live there the rest of my life.
13. Cheese. Oh man I love cheese. At a local cheese shop in
Starlight,
Indiana I bought some gouda and some red pepper cheese. Enjoying
some right now as I throw this page together. Yum!
14. Peanut Buster Parfait. The good thing about being on a
road trip
is when you see something interesting, you just pull over.
I thought this
Peanut Buster Parfait was very interesting.
15. We noticed a Gold Cup Motocross competition happening
and pulled
in to watch. Man, I've never seen bikes jump that high.
