LA Times Book Review

February 14, 2008

When LA Times Book Review called with a black and white job, I jumped on it. (no pun intended). I love working in black and white. Pushes me out of my reliance on color combos a little and I get to play with texture instead.

This was for a book set in Australia. The author’s dad and his brother were always at odds. So of course, fighting kangaroos was the image that popped into my head.

I loved adding tattoos to the “bad” kangaroo. Meanie. :)

I love reading your blog! It’s always so inspirational! Black & white really test the drawing skills, so they are always challenging and fun…well at least to me! Been your past entries on your blog today, since I have no work and I’m living vicariously through you today! Keep up the great blog!
