what if…

December 18, 2007

what if there was no such thing as “one shot”?

if you could always find an escape route?

what if you tried it?

and succeeded beyond your wildest imagination?

I completely agree - the best advice anyone ever gave me was to ask yourself in times of self doubt ‘what would I do if I wasn’t afraid?’…and then do it!

Happy holidays to you and your family.

    Cheers,

I recently heard that a risk is really just a leap of faith- have faith in yourself and jump.

A woman where I work — my boss, I guess — has a sculpture on her desk with the inscription, “What would you attempt if you knew you could not fail?”

Ever since I first saw that, I’ve respected that goading, that insightful rhetorical inquiry.

One of my favorite words of advice is that sometimes it’s better to make a choice, even if it’s the wrong one, then to make no choice at all. In the end, it’s impossible to not have at least learned something and to have grown. Forward momentum.

P.s. I really like the little leaves that seperate the comments.

love this penelope. i had been holding myself back for years. YEARS. by saying no to teaching.

my inner voice would speak to me and say “hey who are you to teach? you don’t even know what the heck you’re doing. why would anyone want to listen to what you have to say anyway?”

last october i lead my first workshop in toronto, canada. it was such a fulfilling, positive, enriching and growing experience.

i feel ashamed for being a wimp and denying myself this experience for all those years when i said no. but i am so proud of myself for finally doing it!

i look forward to many more teaching experiences.

eat, play, rest and enjoy the holidays penelope!

    xoxo,

    meesh
