sick thoughts

November 28, 2007

still sick. :( But work deadlines don’t care, so I’m painting with layers and layers of clothes on to keep me warm. I dipped the end of my scarf in the paint on accident. My eyes are tired too.

Last night I took cold medicine, bundled up and watched this movie. I thought it was beautiful. I’m making a small list of actors I love. I think Zooey Deschanel might be on the list. And Francis McDormand. And Judi Dench.

I finally made it to the grocery store last night (pre-movie) because we had left in the fridge were condiments. So today I feel rich. (does a stocked fridge do that for you?)

Looking forward to some afternoon hot chocolate, even if I have to enjoy it with tissues shoved up my nose.

thinking of you and sending you healing mugs of tea and bowls of soup.

    love to you.

I wonder if you painted with the dipped edge of the scarf. :)

I definitely feel rich when the fridge is stocked - life feels abundant when I have my favourite tea in the cupboard and plenty of eggs for breakfast and baking.

I hope you feel better soon!

Moms out there reading this, any tips on taking care of a sick wife would be greatly appreciated. I feel terrible that she feels so terrible, but even worse when I can’t think of any way to help. I could make her some ginger-lemon-miso soup…

Hello my dear…Catching up on your blog entries, and as always you never cease to amaze me. I’m sorry to hear you are sick and hope you feel better soon, my dear.

I learnt a lesson last month. Doubling up on NeoCitron doses because it has passed its expiry date by a year and “must have lost some of its potency, right?” only makes sense to the crazily ill. (And causes hallucinations in some cases.) Be well.

Oh, I hope you feel better soon. I hadn’t heard of that movie before and you know, my husband and I were talking just yesterday about “that actress” who we like and who will be starring in Tin Man soon. And now we know who she is - Zooey Deschanel! Thanks for clearing that up for us!

I hope you feel better soon! And yes, a full fridge makes me feel like the master of the universe, albeit a little broke ;)

P.S. I love your illustration of the giraffes below, it’s gorgeous!

I hope that you will be able to catch that trailing balloon of a head – wishing you a speedy recovery.

Food and feeling of prosperity must be something left over from our hunter/gatherer ancestry, abundance of food equals survival. So, yeah, I can relate to the feeling of contentment of seeing fridge full of food.

I feel just like that picture too! I love the pic. And I have a cold too.

Colin - make her lots and lots of tea (sliced fresh ginger with honey is awesome for colds). And that miso soup is a good idea too.

  16. Randell Says:

I hate to be sick….so I eat local honey.

Yes, I know that sounds like an old wise-tale but I haven’t been sick in over 2 years so that must say something.

  17. claude Says:

I hope, you will be well again soon! Best wishes from Cologne, claude

… and allow me a motherly (?) advice: don’t push yourself too hard — take a rest, when you need it! Things will still work out (I know it’s hard to believe) :-)
    all the best to you!
(PS: My English is not that good, I hope you understand what I mean)
