maybe it’s…

maybe it’s a little bit of just not being mindful enough as I move through the day… I do work too much and too fast, sure, but I really do love my work. I love being creative and painting and all that good stuff. Maybe if I slow it down a little (saying no every now and then) while at the same time just being more in the moment and mindful of what I do to refill, things will shift. Yeah… I think so. (slaps forehead)

In that spirit: every morning I have a cup of coffee, go outside to water my flowers, and eat a healthy breakfast before starting up the stairs to work. I think it’s a very good way to start the day. And this morning I was really in it. Paying attention to the fact that I was doing something good and enjoyable for me.

Maybe also I will start journaling about my downtime so I have a record of it… being mindful in that way always helps, and I haven’t done that in a while.

People, we have a breakthrough…

(sorry for the stream of conscious post. I just needed to write it out immediately.)

You’ve got it! Noticing the moments fully keeps you in the colorful present instead of anxious about the future, regretful about the past.

hey Penelope, i’m behind you a couple hours (in times zones that is) so when i read your comment on my post about your walk this morning and the shadow colors and yum breakfast, i immediately jumped off the computer, into the hot tub just as the sun was coming up over the mountains, got dressed and took all 3 dogs for a long walk in the woods, and had breakfast all before 8:30…my day has been quite full since then. thanks for the inspiration to take those moments for myself and then into my day. i love how we can inspire each other on different levels simply by sharing words. xojenny

Being present in here and now is half of the battle for being in harmony with yourself. Being aware of the fact that there is only one of you (with limited time and resources) is half of the battle in becoming more kind to yourself. Knowing that you can’t be everything to everyone at all times will give you freedom of being only you. Cheers to journaling in downtime – it really is a great way of staying in touch with your inner voice that is telling you to take a break, to have a cry, to dance, to walk away, to change direction, to readjust your speed… Happy journey, as always!
