journals

A while back I mentioned that I keep image journals… “mini side paintings” I think I called them. I have put together a collection of one of the books for you to see. They are nothing special… lots of times just splotches of color on a page. But I like them anyway. They keep me loose. Keep me creating without caring about the outcome. And they let me experiment which helps my work evolve gradually. But really, they are just crappy fun. :)

I plan to add more journals in the future, but check this one out for now.

I love it! The images and thoughts are very free. I’m going to have to try the
practice of keeping the journal open on my table when I paint. Great idea, Penelope!

Far from “crappy”….I really appreciate that you shared something so personal. I
I like the spontaneous feeling of exploration. I feel inspired to continue to do l
    likewise. thank you

I LOVE looking at other people’s “throw-away” work. Like Nancy said, it’s a great look at your creative process. I learn so much about accepting that not everything has to be perfect, or even have a purpose. Art just for the sake of creating.

    Thanks for sharing!

Now this is my kinda crap. Love the idea. A place to not care about the outcome. I definitely want to do it right now but it’s sleepy time for jimmy. Work tomorrow and all that rot.
