My husband and I take a lot of photographs. I mean, A LOT. If you meet us on the street, chances are that we have a camera on us somewhere and most likely will take your picture when you’re not looking. As I was looking through our iphoto library, I started to notice all the interesting signs and various typeforms that were inadvertently captured in our obsessive photographing. So I just thought it would be neato to put a collection together. I just love type… don’t you?

It owuld be great to see these pics in their entirety.
Only last night I was piecing together a collection of shots of a really old chemist’s shop in the UK. The area under the shop window has about 15ft x 18inches of brass panel with beautiful engraved lettering dating back from Victorian England. A real museum piece.

Great composition & cropping and, of course, how fitting that it’s in a grid!
I went to school for illustration, but had many typography classes, which gave me an appreciation of type …and the realization that I’m not persnickity enough to do graphic design.
However, I agree that it’s great fun to play with type!

Hi, id just like to show my appreciation for your website and creative designs with type.. I am currently a first year student at college doing a national diploma in graphic design and really enjoy type. Type is probably my favourite part of graphics and am glad to see that other people like it so much too!

My graphic design business may pay the bills but my digital camera is
the love of my life. Like you I spend a lot of time snapping pictures.
Looking for the unusual in the mundane. Sometimes it’s just a different
angle. Photos and images I capture don’t often translate into my graphic
design business but every once in awhile I get lucky and can use one
of my creations. Thank you for sharing your photos and images.
