yoga teacher training

(Icon drawn for Prevention Magazine.)
All my textbooks are starting to arrive for the yoga training course that starts in 2 weeks. Each package I open gets me more and more excited. I can’t wait to learn all the sanskrit, understand anatomy, and basically immerse myself in the study of yoga.
The course I’m doing is the 200 Hour RYT Teacher Training program at the Kachmann Mind Body Institute in Ft Wayne, Indiana. (Ft Wayne is about an hour away from where I live, so I’ll have plenty of time in the car to and from to let all the coursework sink in.)
Here is a link to the specific program, if you’re interested in reading about it.
I wonder how these studies will shift things in my life, relationships and spirit… where this is leading, or not leading… and how my everyday life will be affected. I guess we’ll soon find out. :)

This is so wonderful that you went forward with this. I find some people lose themselves when they have children and I am glad to see that you are still right there where I saw you last.
You are an inspiration for many and I admire your determination.
On a side note, I can’t wait to see you and Veda (and Colin). I am leaving in the morning to head back.
Hey there!
This is so nice! I’m starting an education myself, not in Yoga but as a signlanguage interpreter, am pregnant at the moment and I am very curious and hope I can manage to combine motherhood with this new education (its an evening study but quite intensive). I feel supported to know that more “new”moms don’t hesitate to follow their heart to new adventures…..
I know the excitement that these new books rolling in brings about (I have the same right now, yesterday had my first day). Thank you so much and have a wonderful, wonderful time with your new Yoga teacher-classes!!
It’s a great idea and probably a good addition to being an illustrator…I thought of doing the same with Pilates but I’m not as brave…:0)
Good for you, Penelope. I am so impressed that you are starting this new venture in addition to the mama-venture and illustration. Be gentle with yourself! You have taken a lot on, but it seems that challenging as each can be, all your ventures have potential to feed you even while they wear you out! Good luck!
Happy for you. I think it will change a lot, and that some things will not change. I am so impressed you are doing this. I hope you share some of what you learn.
I had never heard of Fort Wayne, now I work in Warsaw…well I telecommute and go to Warsaw once a month – I’ve been reading your blog for awhile and it never clicked. I sure hope I run into sometime when I’m in Fort Wayne.
