Veda love
Thank you so much for the warmest welcome and congratulations for little miss Veda! What a cool thing to be surrounded by so much love from this little blog community. You guys are so kind. :)
We are at day 8 now of the most intense, mind-boggling love for this little girl. She is the best thing since sliced bread. So beautiful. So tiny. I wasn’t expecting a premie-sized baby with how big my buddha-belly was. (Most of it was water-weight after all… I have my ankles back now!) So it’s been funny to realize that none of her clothes fit her yet. But it’s ok. She mostly hangs out in a too-big diaper and swaddling blankets. And lots of body heat. We love skin-on-skin. Keeps everybody warm and sleepy.
I am finally up and able to walk again after the emergency c-section. I have a big battle scar which is healing slowly. The delivery didn’t exactly go as planned, as Colin wrote to you below, but I am so grateful that I had good people around to help us through when things got scary. And we have a healthy girl, which is all we could ask for.
So far, I’m just amazed by this whole new thing. I’ll write more later, but wanted to pop in briefly to say hi. We’re home, happy and doing well. (Not checking email too much, but we are getting all your warm wishes and kind words when we do. thank you!)
Now it’s time to sneak in a nap before Veda wakes up again to eat. xoxo

she is GORGEOUS. isn’t it amazing-the first few days of feeling as if in a dream? a good and sometimes painful healing dream? sending you all so much peace and quiet for these first few weeks of veda’s little life. we are so happy she didn’t have to part from you and is getting to bond with her mommy now.

Thanks for the news! Although I don’t know you, I just had to sneak over to On like popcorn and leave a comment on a post he made… i said you’d never be non-tired again, but then remembered how stupid it feels to get that kind of comments. As if I knew better! So I take it back and just say: How happy you all sound, and she sure looks like a handful – but a pretty, pretty handful!
