Another new piece, but no new baby
A new piece. I wrote about it in the News section.
No baby yet. Thank you so much for all your welcoming and kind comments! We’re occupying the waiting time by reading good birthing stories, going for short walks outside in the woods now that it’s been above 5 degrees, and of course… lots of sitting with my feet up — (can I just tell you how TIRED I am of sitting with my feet up. I’m generally a super active person and this is just killing me. I really hope I lose this water weight very soon after having the baby!)
I hear that most first time moms go late, so I am thinking we still have some time to go…

Oh the poor turtle! At least your on the very last leg of your baby journey! You’ll be chasing around with your little one very soon. Happy and healthy wishes.
Penelope congrats on your bundle!! Wishing you all the best over the upcoming months hun.
I know what’s like to be sitting and waiting. A year ago today I was doing the EXACT same thing. Poking my tummy and asking my daughter when she planned on making an appearance. She ended up coming on the 10th :) (Turning 1 on Tuesday)
Hang in there, and get plenty of R&R if you can.
P.S. I did a lil illo for you with this week’s theme. Check it out if you get a chance.
Ah, I too had a baby that just seemed to enjoy being in the womb a little too much, LOL… 9 days past his due date. :-) Very excited for you! Good luck!
My daughter (who will be 3 on Tuesday) was 12 days late. It is rough waiting, but you’ll be a mama soon enough. Be sure to get as much sleep and eat good food during these final moments as a family of two.
Best of luck! Your life will never be the same…it will be so, so sweet.
Gah! waiting on baby is making me a bit nuts. More so than usual I mean!! hurry, Teensy Dullaghan. Your adoring audience awaits!
hello pumpkin,
our hypnobirthing teacher used to bounce everyone in class who used the term “due date”. she would make us say “guess date”-”with two weeks before or two weeks after being totally acceptable”. we would say totally acceptable in unison! i have to admit it took the expectation out of the whole thing for us. but truth be told, m was 4 days before his “guess date” so i wasn’t doing the waiting game as you are now.
the water weight will subside. i’m sure you’re watching your salt intake which causes me to swell every time. bbq potato chips are calling me now…hell with it.
xoxoxo can’t wait to hear about that little yogipumpkin when she does decide to come out into our world! p
“Due date?” naaaah. Think of it as surprise birth date and then all the “waiting” goes out the window…does that help? The water weight is simply sucko! Thinking of you, C, and baby bean! xxoo C
prayers and all the best wishes…….
this morning is the full moon…maybe today?!
No one told me until AFTER he was born (15 days late) that the late ones are usually mellower, better sleepers, better eaters from the get go. It was true for us — hopefully for you, too!
RE: water retention — I was surprised that it took several weeks to go away. But when it did, it was sudden, like magic. I was thrilled to recognize my hands and feet again. So don’t fret if it lingers a while. It will go!
