Interview with Leonie Allan – creative goddess e-course

I mentioned a while back that Leonie Allan was leading a creative goddess e-course starting January 15th… and well, that’s right around the corner now! There is still time for you to sign up if you wish to infuse your year beginning with a creative punch. Leonie graciously did a quick interview for me so we could find out more about what to expect. Read on…

Will participants be required to share their creations or do they have the option to keep them to themselves if they want to?
Oh! I love this! My sole “requirement” for each Goddess… is to do as their spirit calls! If you are called to share, share. If you are called to keep your creations close to your heart right now, do that. Whatever your spirit calls you to do, that will be perfect.
How can one get the most out of the e-course?
Turn up. You – with your bravery, fears, loveliness, questions, wisdom, stuckness, magnificence… if you’ve only got an hour a week you can squeeze to participate – that’s about a thousand times better than no creative & soulful loveliness. It’s nourishment that will permeate through the rest of your week. If you want to dive in, you’ll be able to do that too. Whatever is right for you right now on your journey will be exactly what you need. Yay!
How will we connect with other participants?
When the e-Course begins on January 15, the Goddess Circle will be opening. I’ve set up a private message board for everyone to connect through. There you can share your art, your stories of spirit and your journey.
How will we connect with you?
I’ll be holding the space for the Goddess Circle and be connecting with all the Goddesses there. It will be one magnificent circle of spirit and creativity. Goddesses can also email me. And VIP Creative Goddesses will get a Goddess Reading/Coaching session over the phone with me.
This must have taken a lot of time and energy to put together. Has it been a labor of love?
More like a labour of spirit, really. And a labour – not of the work kind – but of the birthing kind I think. I had a dream a couple of months ago about the course, and how it would look and feel, and how all these goddesses from around the globe would gather for it. I woke up, and that afternoon sent out the first call for the course. I adore how easily it has come together – it’s been a huge time, but it felt easy to do because I believed in it. I show up, put the time in, and watch this miracle be born… a miracle that will touch my life and the lives of the 100+ goddesses signed up for it.
What inspired you to put this e-course together?
Oh! I just answered that! hee hee hee.
But what inspired me is this… I feel like somewhere along the way a lot of us got afraid of creating. Or forgot that making art could be a soulful experience – a place to remember our own wisdom, gratitude and bliss. I want to help people remember what Goddesses they are. I want to help gorgeous souls remember how good it can feel to share our soul stories and vibrant visions with the world through art, paintings, stories, journalling, sculpture. I wanted to create a space for women to experience their Creative & Soulful Goddess inside.
What are you most looking forward to?
Connecting with all the goddesses in the Goddess Circle. Every single time women circle, miracles happen. I’m looking forward to deep sharings, sweet joys, creative sharings and soul blossomings.
Any supplies participants will need to get started?
First and foremost, I’m not an art supply snob. I’m kind of the opposite of. It’s so much more important to me to actually do it – create – and have fun with it – than worry about what I need to buy this week. My art supplies consist of a box of student’s acrylics – all different brands – all picked up from the cheapest places possible. A packet of half broken oil pastels and chalk pastels that I was given when I was 16 {ten years ago} that are still going strong. A box of wrapping paper from presents received that I keep for collage. A stash of old magazines from ones I’ve read, and some ancient National Geographics I bought at an op shop/vintage cheap shop for twenty for $3. A box of string, sequins and other stuff I pick up here and there. A few feathers that I’ve found on walks. Half run out ink pens and students PVA glue from the newspaper shop. And paper offcuts and cheap canvasses from wherever I find them. As I said – art is supposed to be FUN. It’s not supposed to make you have a mini-freak out about an extensive art supplies list. I’ve been gathering the above over the last ten years, and it’s really superflous to what I really need to make art.
This is *not* a painting course – we will be working in lots of different projects & mediums, so the supply list includes paint because it can be used in so many ways. We’ll be exploring sacred creativity in loads of different ways including journalling, collage, sculpture & mixed media. And if you’ve got a medium you really love working in or supplies, you can totally use them and adapt the project to them. YAY!
So, with that in mind, here’s the totally extensive art supplies list of what you’ll need for the course:
* Some paint.
Because paint is fun and it is bright and can be used in a thousand different ways for a thousand different things. You can pick up a set of watercolour, acrylic or gouache tubes cheaply. I recommend student’s acrylic because you can water it down to make it watercoloury, or keep it fairly opaque so you can layer it like oil paint. Even picking up a six tubes of your favourite colours works great. Get it from wherever is cheapest or happiest for you. And go go the student’s acrylics – you don’t need the expensive professional artist’s acrylics. Anything that makes you anal about using it is not fun or good for the soul. :)
* Something to paint with i.e. brushes.
You need two brushes – one thick, one thin. Ignore the brushes made out of exotic animals with different textured hairs. Go for the big pack of five for $2. Because it’s FUN.
* Something to paint on.
You can use office paper. Or cardboard. Or cheap artist’s canvasses. It’s not important. What’s important is you – beautiful you – giving yourself the time and space to create. Because you can. And it will make you feel inspired and shining and amazing.
* Extra stuff.
Keep old magazines and newspapers and scraps of coloured paper (wrapping paper… hello Christmas) for collage. I’m a big fan of using what’s around you :). There’ll be a project or two where you get to find natural materials to use as well. YAY! :)
What do you hope participants will come away with after this 6 week e-course?
Absolute Joy. A renewed sense of bravery. Utter delight at creating. Deep connections with themselves, and other women. And a knowing that they are a Goddess.
And lastly, is there any inspiration you’d like to share before the course begins?
Just that the biggest inspiration you ever need is right inside you. You are the inspiration, the creative goddess, the wise woman that you’ve been waiting for. Your story, creating, vision, truth, wisdom, writing and art are needed in this world.

Thank you, Leonie! :)
Anyone looking to sign up at the last moment can go here to do so. I hope to connect with you all during this course (depending, of course, on the baby bean due soon). Doesn’t it sound fun though? (Fits in nicely with my goal for the new year — to experience more joy.)
Cheers!
(p.s. I will be out for a few days on a last mini vacation before baby gets here… Well, we hope before baby gets here — If I give birth on the plane, we’re all in big trouble. hee. Let’s hope there’s a doctor flying. I’ll see you here next week!) xo
