general update

HOUSE: We are still waiting to close on the new house. It’s been pushed back twice already and that has been extremely stressful for us. I am not sure what the deal is, but Colin and I seem to be playing the middleman, which makes the whole situation even more in-your-face, and frustrating. I hope we’ll be through it all soon. (The new closing date is Sept 15th.) And really, I don’t mind the delay… Colin and I are enjoying living with Tom for the moment. And probably won’t move out until the end of September anyway. I just mind the “not knowing” and this dragging out for as long as it has.

I can’t wait to tell you about this house and share pics, but at this rate, I’m going to wait until we actually have the keys in hand. You understand… :)

(I’m SO looking forward to nesting and setting up the new nursery!)

SQUAM: I am still preparing for squam. I am mostly there now, with fun stuff to talk about and hand out to all my classes. But I’ve dropped the ball in the last few days because I’ve been busy working on jobs and when that’s done, my energy is gone. So a few more loose ends and I’ll call it a day.

* * *
GRIEF: A lot of you have asked me how Tom is doing. And I gotta say: I think he’s doing alright. He’s been a little elusive on his blog as he works through things in his head, but I think he’s handling the ups and downs very well, considering. He’s started running again. And he and Colin love talking about motorcycling, and do that almost constantly. (I keep up with about half of the conversation.) We’ve been kayaking and watching lots of movies. Reading and working. Life can be very full when you need it to be. I guess it’s been a blessing that our home closing has been pushed off. I think it’s been good that we’ve been here, even though we can’t alleviate the loneliness for Tom, we can at least be a small buffer for a while.

BABY: Baby Bean Dullaghan is growing like crazy (and giving me swollen ankles now, which is so not cool, baby bean!). I also had to go out and buy new bras because my boobs are now huge (well, huge for me) and I am none too happy about that. There was crying involved. But I guess it comes with the territory and I need to accept my new ta-tas.

I’ll take another belly pic to post soon!

That’s what’s been shakin’. Been just swamped and waiting till the waves subside.

    wait until all you want is a pizza and yet you have trouble bending over to get it from the oven. that was one of my most frustating moments. quite funny now! i’ll be happy to share details when I see you! (it is so very worth it in the end)

    my most frustrating pregancy moment was when i decided to color my hair, but i couldn’t bend down to wash out the color in the tub or the sink. luckily my husband just got home so he helped me, laughing at me the whole time of course.

  9. Hi Penelope,

    Just to let you know that Shanna Murray named you as a big source of inspiration in her interview on my blog :)

    Don’t worry about those tatas – after you finish with nursing, they shrink (shrivel) lots… fun, fun :) Big congrats on all your wonderful news!
