My Sacred Life: Day 4

Yesterday definitely classified as what I’m gonna call: A fill day. A day when my cup was filled all the way back up. I needed that… I’ve had too many pour days lately! (And I like to imagine myself with a physical cup in my hands, putting good things in and pouring it out, constantly adjusting and being mindful of the level – which I let get way too low sometimes).

yesterday was: breakfast outside, silliness, running around the backyard like a lunatic, walking my dog, hugging on my husband, reading on the back porch, a book-store visit, sleeping outside in the sunshine (oops, I burnt my shoulders a little), a bubblebath (!), comfy blankets, and barefeet.

joy!

I like the idea of the cup. I think that could be a great tool to “keep track” of balance. Wonderful post and beautiful picture.

Wow! What a marvelous way to fill back up–lots of smaller gifts to yourself, adding up to a great day.

As others have mentioned, the concept of the cup which can be filled or poured from is a valuable one in staying mindful that you can no longer help if you have drained yourself all the way to empty!
