mini side paintings

I like to do little free form paintings in my journal as I work on illustrations for clients. They help keep me loose and I really like just doing what I feel like… whatever the color looks like it wants.

I love your blog because you always remind me of things I have forgotten,
like how important it is for an artist to play.
I really need to do more of that. I dont’ play enough when I’m sketching or working. I’m always work work work and then get really stiff. I have to make a point of doing that!
these are really delicious…
thanks so much for sharing…
i love seeing the behind-the-scenes stuff just as much
(if not more)
as seeing the finished products…
i like these speicaly the energy of the B/W one
Cute and inspiring. Fresh and sunny and cheering!
I especially enjoy the movement of these. You’re supremely talented at making us all think about our own art. You’re probably like Michael Jordan: you make us all better players (artists of course).
These pages are lovely, beautiful colours and textures. It’s great to see that you still make time to play and experiment even when you are so busy… an inspiration! May I ask what medium you were using?
Medium is acrylic and ink on paper. :)
what a great idea!
your flowers are beautiful, and i am envious of your kitchen with a window.
i heard you were having a show at big car next month … i’ve been searching for info about it, but so far it’s elusive. is it still happening?
