I like to do little free form paintings in my journal as I work on illustrations for clients. They help keep me loose and I really like just doing what I feel like… whatever the color looks like it wants.

I love your blog because you always remind me of things I have forgotten,
like how important it is for an artist to play.
I really need to do more of that. I dont’ play enough when I’m sketching or working. I’m always work work work and then get really stiff. I have to make a point of doing that!
